Roteiro geoturístico rodoviário no Estado do Rio Grande do Norte, Nordeste do Brasil

Abstract

Este artigoobjetivaapresentar e descrever locais de interesse geoturístico(LIG), com o intuito de contribuir para a formação de roteiro geoturístico rodoviário e promover o desenvolvimento sustentável da região por meio da valorização e preservação da geodiversidade local.Os procedimentos estão pautados em trabalho de campo, caracterização e análisequalitativados valores da geodiversidade de cada localidentificado. Foram identificadose caracterizados 6locaisde interesse geoturístico ao longo do roteiro propostocom grande potencial geoturístico a ser explorado. O estudo demonstra a viabilidade do roteiro proposto, mas aponta para medidas necessáriasde geoconservação, promoção e divulgaçãoda geodiversidade por meio de políticas públicase instalação de painéisinterpretativos,e a realização de inventários locais para subsídio à elaboração de roteiros geoturísticos municipaisque conciliem à proteção da geodiversidade e ao desenvolvimento sustentávelpor meio do geoturismo.

This paper aims to present and describe geotouristic sites of interest (GSI), with the aim of contributing to the formation of road geotourism itinerary and promoting the sustainable development of the region through the appreciation and preservation of local geodiversity. The methods are based on fieldwork, characterization and qualitative analysis of the values of geodiversity in each identified site. Six geotouristic sites of interest were identified and characterized along the proposed itinerary showing great geotouristic potential to be explored. The study demonstrates the feasibility of the proposed itinerary, but highlights measures needed for geoconservation, promotion, and dissemination of geodiversity through public policies and installation of interpretive panels, and the realization of local inventories to support the elaboration of municipal geotouristic itinerary that balance the protection of geodiversity and sustainable development through geotourism.
