O Museu de Ciências Naturais da Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa e seu potencial educativo para o ensino da Geodiversidade

Abstract

Introduction.Science museums, promoting non-formal educational actions, have been popularizing scientific concepts that contribute to the dissemination of Geosciences to school audiences and the community in general. Objective.This work aimed to analyze the educational possibilities of the geodiversity theme, referencing the geoscientific contents exposed at the Museum of Natural Sciences of UEPG. Methodology.We surveyed school visits to the MCN between June and December 2022 and the contents of Geography in the National Common Curricular Base and the Curriculum of the Paraná State Network that address geodiversity. Results.The results showed that a total of 31 educational institutions visited the MCN, totaling 2,580 visitors, as well as the approach of Geodiversity as a curricular content, although with the need for a more significant appropriation of its concept, especially in the BNCC. Conclusion.In this sense, the geoscientific content exposed at the MCN offers the possibility of expanding Geodiversity studies, proving for enriching teaching and learning on this subject and contributing to the educational and socio-environmental demands of the 21st century.

Introdução. Os museus de ciências, por meio de ações educativas não formais, vêm popularizando conceitos científicos que contribuem para a difusão das Geociências a públicos escolares e à comunidade em geral. Objetivo. Objetivou-se neste trabalho analisar as possibili-dades educativas da temática da Geodiversidade, tendo por referência os conteúdos geocientíficos expostos no Museu de Ciências Naturais (MCN) da Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa (UEPG). Metodologia. Realizou-se um levantamento quantitativo de visitas escolares no MCN entre junho e dezembrode 2022; e dos conteúdos da disciplina de Geografia na Base Nacional Comum Cur-ricular e no Currículo da Rede Estadual Paranaense que abordam a Geodiversidade. Resultados. Ao todo 31 instituições de ensino visitaram o MCN, totalizando 2.580 visitantes; constatou-se a abordagem da Geodiversidade como conteúdo curricular, embora com a necessidade de uma maior apropriação de seu conceito, sobretudo na BNCC. Conclusão. O conteúdo geocientífico exposto no MCN oferece a possibilidade de ampliação dos estudos da Geodiversidade, sendo importante para enriquecer o ensino e aprendizagem da temática e contribuir para as demandas educacionais e socioambientais do século XXI.
